Eric Dean Seaton Interview and New Spin-off to OA

Hello Otakus,

So, we have the Eric Dean Seaton interview up for your listening pleasure.  We ran into Mr. Seaton while at C2E2, also BigL and I talk a little about his book, “The Legend of Mantamaji” and how we felt about it.  Check out that show here.  We are thinking about doing a spin off of OA dealing with sports.  When we say sports we don’t mean we talk about sports in American.  No, we talk about those and other cultures sports (cricket, 9-man, Rugby, etc.).  Along with anime sports ( e.g Kuroko’s No Basket, Ace of the Diamond, Baby Steps, and so on),  We are really stoked about this addition to the family.  So, keep an eye out for these projects and more of our C2E2 and other shows.

Chipping at the Back Log!

While I have been on vacation, or should I say stay-cation lol, I have been watching and playing some anime & games.  So I started watching SAO and Captain Earth again, I like these anime but the sports shows (Baby Steps, Haikyu, and Ace on the Diamond) just draw me more than any of the others.  I would have to believe that the start of the US sports has something to do with it.  When you have the NFL season, along with Madden 15, NBA in Nov. with NBA 2K15,

are contributing to the feeling.  However, SAO was a bit slow but is now starting to get good.  Speaking of SAO, the second season of Log Horizon is coming back in October on the 4th.

I’m stoked for the new season, with the old characters and some new ones throw-in.  I can’t wait, I will be posting often this week.

EA Access

So, I have been trying EA Access for a little less than a month now.  I like it I may purchase the year ($5 per month/$30 per year), as of right now there are only four games available in the vault (Battlefield 4, FIFA 14, Madden 25, and Peggle 2).

EA-Access

The unfortunate thing is the service is only available for Xbox One, Sony reasoning for not providing the service was they felt it wasn’t a good value.  Which is a cop out mainly because it would conflict with PS Now, that’s another debate entirely.  Now I personally have played most of these games, if not still own, already but just one.  First of all I’m not the biggest fan of this sport but the game as well as the sport has begun to grow on me.

FIFA 14

It’s funny how the World Cup did nothing, or my co-workers, to change my feelings toward this sport.  But this games has, so much that I think I may get this year’s game along with Madden 15.  Speaking of Madden 15 with EA Access you get to play 6 hours of the game which is a fair amount of time to get a feel for the game.  I hope they do this more often, but for games that don’t get marketed a lot.

It seems like a waste on a game most people would buy anyway, but there won’t be a demo for it this year.  I think it is a pretty good deal as long as they add more games to the vault and not subtract, the price is pretty reasonable.  I do see other publishers doing this if it works out for EA, but all and all so far I like it.  Now I’m going to play some FIFA lol

Take some time out and listen to episode 2 (Pushed to the Brink) of Nickels & Dimes

Nickel&Dimes

When faced with elimination who stands up against the pressure?  The Heat find themselves in the final hour versus the Spurs.  Can they make a comeback for the ages?  Also we debate the hypothetical scenario of Carmelo Anthony joining the Big 3 in Miami now that he is a free agent. Plus, another team on the verge of certain ousting.  The New York Rangers staved off elimination to survive another day but how long can it last without Rick Nash playing up to par of a star?  We also discuss Donald Sterling’s desire to exact revenge on the NBA and why if your the father of a girl on the Palisades High School Basketball team you might have to have words with Ron Artest????
